Bass River Launch in South Yarmouth

Springtime often finds Dragonfly Sportfishing utilizing the Boat Launch at Bass River Beach (also known as Smuggler’s Beach) in South Yarmouth, MA to access the waters of Nantucket Sound.  Directions to the Bass River Beach launch from Route 6  (also known as “the mid-cape”) are listed below.

Directions to Bass River Boat Launch from Route 6 (also known as the “Mid-Cape”) are as follows:

From Route 6 East (coming from: Barnstable, Sandwich, Boston)
Take Exit 8 (Union Street\Station Avenue) turn right onto Station Ave., headed south.  Continue south for 2 miles and merge right onto North Main Street.  Go straight through the traffic light at N. Main Street and Route 28.  There will be a gas station/Dunkin’ Donuts combination on the left as you go through the intersection. (Last chance for a coffee to take with you on the boat!)   Continue south on Main Street (it’s Old Main Street now) for 1 mile and turn left onto South Street. Go 9/10ths of a mile on South Street and the entrance to the parking lot will be on your left.  You will see the Smuggler’s Beach resort as you turn into the lot.  The first parking lot as you enter is for passenger vehicles. The second parking lot closer to the water has long parking spaces marked out for trucks with boat trailers.  Make sure that you park your vehicle in a spot for passenger cars. The Dragonfly will be waiting for you on one of the floating docks beside the launch ramps (on the left-hand side of the parking lot closest to the water) see Google Earth photo A parking fee of $15 is assessed for passenger cars during high season. (May 16 through October 8, 2016)  If our trip departs before the parking attendants arrive, you pay at the booth on the way out after our trip. (They have your plate # and will send you a ticket with a $50 fine if you do not stop and pay!)

From Route 6 West (Coming from Harwich, Brewster, Orleans)
